Short Film - End of an Era

Hi, I’m Ayilya Thampuran, the writer and director of the short student film “End of an Era.” My team and I are currently raising funds to bring our vision to life. The goal is to raise $3000 by June 15, 2024.

We are a student-led production from InFocus Film School. A team of 12 people and seven actors. We will be shooting for three days, across Vancouver. All of the funds raised will go into acquiring locations, props, costumes, transportation, and more!

Here is a short synopsis of our film:

In ‘End of an Era,' we follow Thomas, a young musician confronting the harsh reality of his terminal illness. Faced with unbearable pain and the diminishing quality of life, Thomas decides to seek medical assistance to end his life on his own terms. He sets a date with his doctor for the end of the month. Despite the heart-wrenching objections of his sister Ava and loyal friend and bandmate Murph, Thomas remains resolute in his choice, driven by a desire for dignity and control over his fate. On the appointed day, Thomas grapples with a myriad of emotions as he desperately waits for his sister's arrival. The climax hinges on whether she will ultimately be present in his final moments.

'End of an Era' is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the courage to let go with grace and acceptance.
