THE FILM

Our short horror film "By Appointment Only" begins filming April 19th, 2023. We have a fantastic cast and crew and can't wait to tell this fun, twist-filled story. With your help, we can reach our budget goals and get this exciting film created.

THE STORY

A young couple on a cross-country spree has been targeting large estate homes for sale, stealing all of the high-dollar items they can sell. When a realtor is murdered in a bungled robbery and the couple is spotted, they need to make for the border. They need one final score to have the cash for the trip, but nothing goes to plan and things take a very dark turn.

THE SCRIPT

The script has received very positive reviews from readers, the director, the production team, and the cast. The descriptions range from “really scary” to “awesome” to "disturbing" to “fun.” If you’re a horror fan, you’re really going to enjoy it.

THE LOCATION

Pick Pocket Plantation, a beautiful manor home in the Lowcountry, plays an integral part of the story and could be considered the fourth character in the film.

PRINCIPLE CAST BIOS

PEPPER: Hannah Elizabeth Smith is a film and theater actress from the coastal town of Wilmington, NC. Since 2011, Hannah has been seen on-stage throughout the Southeast in iconic roles such as ‘Lady Macbeth’ (Macbeth, Dram Tree Shakespeare), ‘Carrie White’ (Carrie: The Musical, City Stage Co.), ‘Mary Tudor’ (Mary Tudor, Trenchant Productions), ‘Viola’ (Twelfth Night, Shakespeare on Draught), and more. She’s also appeared on-screen in independent films playing characters that range from an active serial killer to a dating app employee. Hannah’s role in the short film At Ease (dir. Jacob Kirby) earned her an award nomination, and the project ultimately screened as a selection at Cannes Film Festival in 2016.

CALLIE: Meagan Johnson is a comedian, writer, and director based out of Savannah, GA. When she's not doing horror screams, she plays Danny Moron on the Savannah for Morons trolley tour and works as an instructor with the Front Porch ACTS youth outreach program.

ROY: Brenden Davis is a renaissance man of production. He has been a working actor, director, improviser, and writer for close to 10 years. While mostly centering around comedic stories, he prides himself in his character acting work. He once had a double life as a con-man, so playing Roy feels like a dream come true for him.

CREW BIOS

DIRECTOR: Trevor Harden is the owner/founder of Harden Creative as well as the Director of "By Appointment Only." Primarily a commercial director, Trevor has also directed the film "6:22" and written/directed Pretty Darn's "Casual." Trevor’s interests include cinema and filmmaking, mysticism/spirituality, Tarot, standup comedy and performing music. Some of Trevor's favorite horror movies include The Shining, The Witch and Hereditary.

DP: Eddie Tucker is Harden Creative’s Director of Photography - which means he’s in charge of the look of the film, the image in the camera, as well as the camera department on set. Eddie has worked with numerous regional and national brands including Paramount, Smithsonian and Adidas. His work is his hobby, and his hobby is making art through images. Eddie enjoys learning new things, reading, philosophy, and spending time with his wife and 4 kids.

PRODUCER: Danielle Galella has been a part of the HC crew for the past 2 years and brings a Swiss Army like approach to all of the projects she Produces. Between some of her other gigs with HGTV, HBO, Bloomin’ Brands - she still makes her way back to the Lowcountry to work with our team in the South East, most recently in NYC and sometimes remotely. On set you’ll see Danielle tending to client, cast & crew - anticipating needs before they arise. She can crew up a whole team or fill in the gaps on run-and-gun shoots. Behind the Scenes she works with locations, talent, logistics, props - making sure everyone and everything is in its place when we’re ready to roll.

WRITER: Shannon Stock has been a working screenwriter for over a decade, writing on spec as well as original material. This is Shannon’s first original screenplay in production. She is currently working on a full-length film expanding on this short, and has a television series in development.
