Short animation 'Marj's Garden'

I'm currently working on a two-minute animation 'A Fox and a Sun' with the support of the Cinespace Production in Residence Winter 2023 program.

I'm raising funds to create a short animation 'Marj's Garden'.

The script was written three years ago and has been waiting for its moment. This project is very close to my heart as it's based on a true story of my friend's Mum who tried to save her garden from drought amidst Australian bushfires.

Here is the synopsis:

Marj, late 70s, lives alone in a rural area with no one around. Her luscious garden is her whole world. When the garden starts dying from the drought, she goes to great lengths to save it. Although she cannot win against nature and government forces, she comes up with a creative solution. There is also a surreal component to the story of Marj dreaming about possible ways to find water for her garden, with the help of her charismatic cat Muffin.

The script is the winner of the Best short script award at the Sydney Women’s International Film Festival 2021 and the quarterfinalist at the Screencraft Animation competition.

The funds will pay for the animation work and sound design.
