My name is Daisy Carlson, I'm doing this for my brother Jackson and sister Paulette.
OnOn Februa 28, my 13 year old niece Shondra left her home to do some rock climbing with her cousins and friends down in the canyon of Havasupai Arizona.
My brother who's a first responder heard a call for help go over the scanner for the area in which his daughter went to play, as he headed for the location of rescue, in his heart and on his mind he ran through the idea that it could be her, as he looked on he fought that idea believing she was do home any minute and wouldn't be that far up the canyon away from home so close to curfew. Unfortunately, upon arrival my brother saw what he knew in his heart was his baby girl.
My brother has been a first responder in the village of Havasupai for about 15 years, he has recovered people and rescued them, he has seen things he thought he would never see, people (to his reluctancy) have called him a hero because that's what he is. But nothing could have prepared that hero for this moment. My brother and sister are both hard working parents that love and care for their children, this has been a devastating blow to them and us all, Shondra was a loving, caring, funny, sincere and beautiful sole, the entire village where she lives and our family here up north deeply mourn her leaving. My brother and I are both hard working people and its hard for either one of us to ask for help, but my brother and his family need it at this time.
