Help Sho Afford a New Flute!

Hello friends, family, musicians, and music lovers,
My name is Sho, and I am a sophomore in college majoring in classical music performance. I am reaching out to you today because I am facing a significant setback in my musical journey. About a month ago, my beloved flute, valued at $8,500, was lost and stolen on an Amtrak train, leaving me devastated and unable to continue my studies without a replacement.
As a music student, having a reliable instrument is crucial for my progress and success. After using my backup flute for the past month, it has become apparent that completing my undergraduate degree with it will not be an option. I had initially planned to upgrade my flute my senior year before going into graduate school; but given the current situation, I have no choice but to upgrade two years early. This will not only save me from the financial burden of buying another flute in the near future but also ensure that I can focus on honing my skills without worrying about the limitations of my backup flute.
Unfortunately, I can’t afford a new flute without taking out a loan. With my parents help, I think I can manage the payments for a $10,000 loan while earning my undergraduate degree, but I am in need of additional support in order to purchase a flute that will carry me through my academic journey.
To overcome this financial hurdle and continue pursuing my passion for music, I am setting a fundraising goal of $10,000. This amount will help me cover the remaining balance for a new flute that will not only replace the instrument that was stolen but also support my growth as a musician throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies and beyond.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in my life and will be greatly appreciated. Every dollar brings me closer to obtaining a new flute and continuing my musical journey.
If you can’t afford a contribution, I hope you’ll share my GoFundMe page with your friends, family, and social networks. Your support means the world to me. Knowing that there are people who believe in my talent and dreams gives me the strength to persevere.
Music has always been my passion. Just as I chose not to let a collapsed lung and emergency surgery (just a few months before my freshman conservatory auditions two years ago) ruin my dreams, I will not let this setback derail them either. With your support, I can overcome this financial hurdle and continue my journey as a musician.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for any contribution you can make towards helping me purchase a new flute.
Sincerely,
Sho Roash
