Shmuel “Steven” Rosensweig has always been part of my life, a true childhood friend. Ever since I was a little girl, I looked up to him. I still do! We grew up together in Baltimore and he was the best man at my brother’s wedding.
He is the type of person who will share whatever he has so that he can make your life easier. When I was in my early twenties, I found myself heartbroken and homeless when my fiancé broke up with me. Shmuel opened his home and made sure I had all my needs met until I had the strength to land on my own two feet.
And now he needs help and I am hoping you can help me make his life easier. Shmuel has stage four esophageal cancer which sadly has metastasized. Unable to work, he is struggling to get even his most basic needs met. He and his loving wife Adinah, who is battling her own disabilities, have always relied on Shmuel's income. Without any real savings, they are having a rough time.
Though most of Shmuel’s medical treatment is covered by Israel’s healthcare system, some expenses related to healthcare are not. Also, our friend’s mobility is greatly limited so public transportation and walking are no longer options, much money is spent on taxis to and from the hospital, including for chemotherapy.
But mostly I'd like your help in making his daily life more manageable. As simple as it is, it isn’t easy to take care of your basic needs without an income. Will you join me in giving whatever you can? Every little bit will make a difference.
