In the late afternoon of January 13, 2016, Outer Banks resident Carol Koon, her son Luke Sawyer and Luke's friend, Hermillo "Milo" Rosales were involved in a serious car accident. Tragically, Luke died at the scene. Carol and Milo remain hospitalized in Norfolk in critical condition.
We as the Outer Banks community has always prided ourselves in taking care of our own, and once again, we are asking for your help. Carol is a single mother and works as a massage therapist at Hairoics. Milo is like a second son to Carol.
The devastation in the aftermath of such a tragedy is beyond imagination. The funds will be used help cover Luke's funeral expenses, offset medical expenses for Carol and aid Milo's parents so they can spend time by their son's side and to help support Carol while she is recovering, unable to work, and trying to come to terms with her grief.
