Shirley's Journey: Help Us Say Goodbye
Donation protected
My beloved wife Shirley of 55 years passed away at hospice from breast cancer and multiple illnesses and infections on May 5th.
She was the glue that held our family together, and we will miss her always.
Shirley was a devoted mother to my 2 now adult children, and our family boxer.
Her passions in life were to help animals and children with cancer and disabilities.
That led her to work as a paraprofessional for Cincinnati Public Schools & Hamilton County MRDD schools. She worked for them for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2015.
She was diagnosed with stage 3B triple negative breast cancer in October 2024.
She fought until she couldn't anymore, eventually stopped eating & kept falling, ending up in the hospital several times.
Her medical bills are piling up and we are overwhelmed.
April 28th was a very dark day for us as she was transferred to hospice, where she passed away peacefully with us by her side on May 5th, 2025.
My daughter held her hand as she took her last breath. That is a visual no parent should have to see. It broke my heart.
Our family has had a difficult last 7 months dealing with cancer (both of us), multiple surgeries, and ultimately the death of the matriarch of our family.
We had no savings and barely any funds in checking to help cover the expenses of the cremation ceremony and future memorial, not to mention her medical bills.
I hope there are kind, compassionate people out there that can relate to the situation we are faced with.
Anything you can give would be so helpful and we would be beyond grateful
Shirley should have the most beautiful final resting home possible.
She gave so much of her life, time, love, and support to us and others without hesitation.
I want to give back to her in the way she truly deserves.
Services will be held on Monday May 19th,2025 .
Thank you in advance.
