Shirley and I want to thank all the people, kids and fur friends that love her so much and care about her enough to help raise the funds for her to get her first round of surgeries this month. She is scheduled to go under June 21st for her first surgery (right rear leg) and again on July 19th for her second surgery (left rear leg) she has a double CCL Rupture in both back legs (Cruciate Ligament Rupture) and our amazing surgeon is going to do a TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) surgery on both legs to stabilize her knees and allow her ligaments to heal. Ultimately she will end up with early onset arthritis as she already has early onset hip dysplasia, so she will remain on supplemental medications for the remainder of her life to allow her to be comfortable and active. The estimated price if there’s no complications for each surgery is between 3,500$ - 5,500$ not including post op medications and post op visits, physical and supplemental therapy. Shirley will be attending physical therapy as well after her second surgery is finished to get both legs back to maximum range of motion and to gain strength back in her muscles. Once I receive the receipts from her first surgery I will post and update everyone. Unfortunately I have to pay for both surgeries up front that’s why I’m starting this fundraiser now to cover both when she goes under for her first procedure. Her pet insurance also unfortunately doesn’t cover these surgeries because they are pre-existing conditions so these surgeries and any future ones won’t be covered neither will her physical therapy or prescription supplements. I am so thankful for everyone we know that adores my sweet girl. She really is magical and so contagious with love.
