This GoFundMe was created in hopes of raising funds to assist grandpa Jerry in laying his dearly beloved partner of 60 years, our grandmother, born October 23rd, 1943, Shirley Hideko Sanner (Kitsu), to her final resting place. Grandma was a pillar to her 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She lived to be 81 years old and was weeks away from celebrating her 82nd birthday along with my grandpa, with their birthdays being 2 days apart from each other. As a longtime diabetic, grandma attended dialysis 3 times a week for the past 11 years, but unfortunately, she knew her body couldn’t withstand the stress and toll it took on her any longer and bravely agreed that hospice care would be the best route for her to go. She passed on peacefully beside us, her family. We were very privileged and blessed enough to be witnesses to her final breaths on this earth on the night of September 27th, 2025.

My grandma raised me from 9 years old until I turned 18 due to both of my parents' mental illnesses preventing them from being able to raise me in the way a little girl would need tending to growing up. I feel I need to step up for the woman who stepped up and raised me.

We are asking for any support in raising funds to help grandpa pay for her funeral and burial services, which are to take place on December 15th. My cousin Jasmine and I are taking it upon ourselves to try and do what we can to help aid our grandpa in this transitional period. If donations aren't possible, we ask if you could please help us by word of mouth and sharing. Any contributions help push us to our goal of ensuring minimal stress on our grandfather while he (along with our entire family) learns to move forward and learn how to live on without her lively presence.

With my mama’s passing nearly 4 years ago, I had an outpouring of support and community reach out and help me and my family. I would humbly be asking if we could do it again now for the mother of my mommy, Grandma Shirley!
