Shira’s Cancoir: The Sequel
Donation protected
Anyone who knows my sister Shira, knows she is not one to ask for help. Since she
was a little kid, all she wanted was to be a “big girl” (and Italian) and do things herself.
She has even been self-employed most of her adult life. Doing things on her own is
something she has always been very proud of.
So, when the diagnosis of breast cancer
came, and Chemo was in her future, Shira
realized this was first thing she could not
do all by herself. But where to start, and
how to ask for help?
This is new territory, and it is not a comfortable feeling. So, to ease that for Shira, we, her family, want to get this started for her. Yes, Shira will be okay, but she is also going to go through a year of hell to get there.
She is embarking on a year of asking for
help for the very first time.
Yet, Shira’s got a much bigger village than
even she realizes…and her village is located far and wide, all around the world.
We know you, her village, will want to help, and some will feel frustrated that you are
too far away to come for a hug or lend a
hand.
We also know that since Shira’s
self-employment will be interrupted during this cancer journey there is an easy and
meaningful way for everyone in Shira’s village to help her, no matter where you are
located.
As we all know, insurance will only get us
so far, and we’re finding out daily how many things they don’t cover. Your gift, for any amount, towards Shira’s cancer “cameo
appearance” is so very appreciated.
