Shipping Secret Gateways Box Set
Donation protected
Hi all, Matthew M. Bartlett here.
A lot of you have been following this saga. Here's the short version:
Several years ago, Nightscape Press contacted Jon Padgett and me with the idea of a three-book hardcover set. At long last, that set, Secret Gateways, has been published. It is a lovely trio of books including Padgett’s The Secret of Ventriloquism, Bartlett’s Gateways to Abomination, and the Latham-Fielding Liaison, a short collection of collaborations between the two authors. There are stories not included in the original publications, fantastic illustrations by Aeron Alfrey and Harry O. Morris, and additional material by John Langan, S.P. Miskowski, and Thomas Ligotti. Nightscape has shipped some sets, but are financially unable to ship the rest. Recently, after over a year of us pleading and them refusing, they delivered the as-yet unshipped books to Sam Cowan of Dim Shores, and Sam has already begun shipping them.
And here’s where we must ask for your help. This fundraiser intends to collect money sufficient to box and ship the remainder of the sets to customers both domestic and international - probably between $1,000 and $1,500, when you include sufficient packaging. Since Jon and I were paid a fraction of what we were owed, and since Sam Cowan has generously donated his time and no small amount of work to collect the books and send them, we've added some to the goal. There is the possibility that the goal number may change at some point, as we may have to have more sets printed in order to ensure that everyone receives their full set of books.
As reluctant as we are to attach yet another fundraiser to this project, it is, unfortunately, a necessity, and the best and fastest way to get books to the people who ordered them. We don't want anyone--especially those who spent their hard-earned money on this set years ago--to feel in any way obligated to donate. If you want to, do; if you don't, we understand.
We sincerely thank you for any amount you are able to give.
