Shippensburg PRSSA Chapter Seeks Donations

Hi, my name is Madison Griffith and I am the president of Shippensburg University's Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter.

Our Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter will be embarking on a trip to Nashville, Tennessee on October 13 through 17, 2023, to attend the PRSSA ICON 2023 conference. Our organization is currently seeking in-kind donations to help us attend the public relations conference to benefit each member’s knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities.

PRSSA International Conference is an event that brings public relations/communications students and professionals from around the world together for professional development and networking. Attendees will get to hear from many industry professionals about their experience and best practices and have the opportunity to attend general sessions at the PRSA International Conference, as well as some of the PRSA networking events. Attendees also have the opportunity to get matched up with a professional mentor that they’ll be able to connect with for a lifetime. Many of our members still keep in contact with our mentors whom we have met over the years.

Attending this conference has allowed us to explore the different paths of the public relations field and make many connections with peers and professionals that have advanced our careers in a way that no other event does! Let alone connecting with various individuals, we get to explore the city, make new friends, and bond with each other as a chapter; from ordering pizza in the hotel room to adventuring in downtown shops on rainy days. Furthermore, it is a huge honor to be recognized at the conference for winning a star chapter award, one of 42 in the nation.

Our chapter continues to fundraise within our campus community to reach our goal of $5,000 which includes expenditures for the Gaylord Hotel, travelling, and conference fees.
