SHIP Medical Equipment from Canada to Africa

Hi, My Name is Marie Taqui; I am the fundraiser for this medical facility in Bonoua, In the Ivory Coast, West Africa. Sixty kilometers from Abidjan, the capital of the Ivory Coast, is a rural town called Bonoua. In the village of Bonoua is a rundown medical center. In that medical center are old beds, peeling walls, and rusty equipment

The good news is that we have everything we need to restore this center to its former glory.

We have the medical supplies, and we have the medical equipment. But the supplies and equipment are in a shipping container. And the shipping container is in Canada, almost 1000 kilometers away.

The only obstacle in our way is shipping that container over the ocean to the people who need it here in Bonoua.

We are looking for support to raise CSI's required $16,500. CSI, a Canadian medical equipment company, handles the logistics, shipping, and handling, so this is a massive international effort.

Imagine that shipping yards and international waters have different tariffs for ordering something from Amazon or sending a letter to the post office.

But you can also imagine how a single drop makes the ocean bigger. We ask you to donate what you can to help us achieve our goal.

There is no such thing as a small donation. Every penny you can spare will go towards the administrative costs of finally getting that medical equipment up and running to the people who need it most.

And crossing the North Atlantic Ocean is just one of our challenges.

Once we have successfully and safely brought the shipping container to the shores of the Ivory Coast, we can begin transporting it 60 km to Bonoua.

From there, we will rectify the medical center and heal the sick. Finally, the people in Bonoua will have reliable, safe, and adequate medical care. And it will all be thanks to you.

Because the Hippocratic Oath is more than ailing the sick, it’s also about passing on medical knowledge to the next generation.

And that’s what you’ll be doing by restoring the medical infrastructure in Bonoua. Generations after generations will benefit and prosper from the success of this challenge, but it depends on us. It depends on us coming together and helping in any way we can.

Just as a vast ocean is a multitude of tiny drops, so is change a variety of small sacrifices.
