Shiny Dome Records Needs Your Help
Donation protected
So many many times, I get stopped and asked about how Shiny Dome Records is doing. As much as I love that, it’s time to tell you that it isn’t doing so great. We need help. This doesn’t mean that Shiny Dome is done. If we can’t correct the ship in time, we will find a new port to dock in. In other words, no matter what happens now, we are not disappearing. There are plans to continue serving our community.
Shiny Dome is more than just a record store. This entity started with much more communal roots, helping folks out in times of need. Over time, I was able to save up enough money to start Shiny Dome Records. A dream come true. It started out of my house, as a pop-up venture. Countless hours were spent sitting in my living room, processing and pricing records. Let me tell you, that living room is not set up for that at all. I couldn’t even walk through that room without feeling like I was dodging lasers that were securing a bank vault. I had suddenly entered a state of drowning in records. After a few years of setting up at shows and conventions, I finally was able to open Shiny Dome Records as a brick and mortar business.
In so many ways, this has been a dream come true. And I want to thank everyone who has supported Shiny Dome along the way. When I preparing to open the brick and mortar, people warned me that it's not easy. Guess, what? It's not! I’ve fought hard to get to where I am now, and I’m not turning my back on this endeavor whatsoever. As long as there is breath in me, there will always be fight in this dog.
Truth is, we are behind. We’ve done everything we can to try to catch back up. That’s all we need. We just need to catch back up, in order to keep our location. All too often, someone comes in the shop and says how badly Morgantown needs a record shop. We couldn't agree more. We'd love to be able to stay put and continue to serve the community in this way. Any and all help is welcome. Thanks for everything so far!
