Trailer for SHINING STAR

My name is Jackie Thornton and I’m screenwriter. I received my MFA from the UCLA School of Film & TV with the sole purpose to write scripts for and about black women and girls. I want all girls but particularly, black girls to have what I didn’t have growing up—images of themselves on the big and small screen. In that endeavor, I wrote an award-winning coming of age script called SHINING STAR.   It’s set during the fabulous 70s about three best friends who want to go to their first concert. My heart’s desire is turn this script into a movie. BUT FIRST, I need to attract investors. And this, my friends is where you come in. I want to make a 2- minute trailer to get the ball rolling. I just need $5000 to produce it. So, I could really use your financial support to make this kick-ass trailer.  I have a production team, a director and an editor ready to go, I just need the funds to make it happen.  My goal is to start shooting the trailer this summer so I have plenty of time to find the location and the perfect teen girls to star.
