If you’ve known me for some time, you know I have a heart for people! For the saved and the unsaved. You also know that my relationship and time spent with the Lord has led me to serve in youth ministry for the past few years, which has further unraveled what the Lord has put on my heart: to go forth and make disciples of all nations. For the past few years, I’ve been doing that here in San Diego but now the Lord has asked me to take a step out of my comfort zone.

A few months ago, I was in the secret place with the Lord. I felt Him ask me, “Do you trust me?” I answered yes. He asked me two more times and I answered the same. “Good. I want all of you in this next season.” At the time, I didn't know what that meant or what He had in store for me. Over the next few months, the Lord put in place opportunities for me to serve Him in ways I hadn't experienced yet, including serving alongside my pastor and leading a group of young boys at camp. All of this continued to add to what I was feeling so heavily on my heart: how much I wanted to serve God and how much more I wanted to do so. Looking back its crazy how fast the Lord would open a door for me to do so.

At a special Young Adults night at my church, we had a ministry called the Send come and at the end of the night, there was a call to action to take the gospel to other nations. YWAM led this portion and I felt the Lord once again tell me to take a step and wait on Him. I spent two weeks praying, waiting to hear more from the Lord and getting out of my own way, until I knew this is what the Lord would bless me in my going.

This mission trip is a DTS (Discipleship Training School) and it’s unique in that it’s broken down into two phases. The first is the lecture phase and it will be three months long and takes place in Mazatlan, Mexico. The second is the outreach phase and it will be two months long but I have the option of going wherever the Lord calls me. Some of the places I could go are South America, Asia, Europe, Africa or I could also stay in Mazatlan. The costs are also broken down for the two phases: the first phase is $4,200 and the second ranges from $2,500-$5,000 depending on where I go. I am looking to raise $11,00 to cover all possible costs and to be able to have some money to live on during my time away.
