Has your life been touched by the Calvary United Methodist Church in Waymart?

 

In 1856 Reverend George Landon opened the doors of this church in service to Almighty God and the citizens of Waymart, and after 166 years, Pastor Wendy D'Agostino continues its service to our community.

 

Our spiritual community has been blessed by generations of families whose commitment and love of God made it possible for us to continue to good works they began. (We continue to stand on their shoulders.)

 

So many have been touched by this community of faith that has offered endless support during many life challenges through weekly services, Women's Society, MYF, Sky Lake, Vacation Bible School and outreach programs. Pause for a moment, take that trip down memory lane and remember. You will definitely find yourself smiling! Our programs continue and have grown to add the Open Door Cafe, Janice's Clothing Closet, Food Bank, Kare for Kids (teacher needs cupboard) and clothing needs for Robert D. Wilson Elementary School.

 

Right now, we ask for your help. The roof of the church has to be re-shingled. As you can imagine, this is a significant financial expense that cannot be covered by traditional church fundraising, so we ask you for your generosity in raising the funds needed.

 

There will be a scroll in our church acknowledging all donations. Also, since our families, some for generations, have been a part of this journey, you may want to donate in memory of loved ones who supported the 166-year history of this faith community.
