Help us care for LGBTQIA Folks in Central Florida

Help us make a difference in the embattled state of Florida to support our LGBTQIA community!!

My name is Joseph Sivoli. and I am the Executive Director of Beacon Health. As a gay man who was raised with trauma, this cause hits so close to my heart. I was often made to feel as if I didn't matter, and that who I was needed to be hidden or erased. I care deeply for people and want to use my skills to help others feel safe from this sort of trauma and abuse.

You may have seen the recent attacks from our state legislators in Florida to deny proper healthcare and support for our Trans brothers and sisters. Our legislature is trying to deny healthcare to our community - which will ultimately lead to more suicides in our youth. Studies show Trans and Queer youth suicide rates are at 50%!! And these latest attacks on our community will only make matters worse!

Beacon Health is a collaborative startup Community Health Clinic with members of our community that want to make a difference. We're comprised of Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Straight individuals who care deeply for our most vulnerable community members. Our goal is to start a full-service clinic - with a focus on folks in our community who have experienced trauma - as is so often the case. We will offer Behavioral Health Counseling first, then Medical Health Services. We'll also provide a sliding scale for services and will provide care even when it can't be afforded by those who need it.

We need your help to raise funds to cover the following: a year of rent for our space, computer equipment, registration to accept health insurance, office furniture, supplies, and service providers.
