Shine a light for Nicaragua

¡Levanta tu mano amiga! Somos un grupo de nicaragüenses que viven en el extranjero en todo el mundo, que buscan crear una plataforma de solidaridad para otros nicaragüenses frente a COVID-19. Estamos recaudando fondos para apoyar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas nicaragüenses más vulnerables a la pandemia. Los fondos recaudados se canalizarán a socios implementadores locales confiables para apoyar la prevención y la provisión de atención médica a los grupos más vulnerables de la sociedad nicaragüense.
Nuestras acciones en marcha:
Ante la pandemia del COVID-19 y la grave situación generada en Nicaragua hemos habilitado voluntariamente el área multidisciplinaria de salud Médica y de atención psicosocial con especialistas en diferentes partes del mundo. Quienes están dando acompañamiento a víctimas de la crisis del covid-19 dentro de Nicaragua.
Hemos impulsado una campaña férrea desde el área de comunicación enfocado en la autoprotección comunitaria, la urgencia de una cuarentena nacional para evitar el contagio y en atención a las medidas mandatadas por la Organización Mundial de la Salud. Desde el área Legal e incidencia internacional estamos tocando todas las puertas para lograr el restablecimiento de las libertades y la democracia con justicia en el país.
Objetivos de esta campaña
Contribuir a preservar el derecho a la salud y la vida del pueblo nicaragüense mediante ayuda humanitaria que permita disminuir la cantidad de personas enfermas y fallecidas por COVID-19 así como contar con medios que reduzcan sus niveles de vulnerabilidad ante la pandemia y los niveles de empobrecimiento socioeconómico.
Se pretende contar con recursos para satisfacer en lo que nos sea posible la gran demanda de atención a necesidades urgentes de nicaragüenses que viven en situación de vulnerabilidad tanto dentro como fuera del territorio nacional. Nicaragua atraviesa hoy una crisis de derechos humanos de las mayores en su historia y requiere de la solidaridad de todos los pueblos del mundo.
Situación agudiza en el marco de la pandemia del COVID-19 en la que según proyecciones basadas en el modelo MRC que proyecta el número de infectados basado en el total de muertes reportadas x 100 tomando como referencia el número oficial de muertes reportadas: 46 x 100 = el total de infectados a la fecha estaría en más de 46,000 personas.
Pero el Observatorio Ciudadano reporta más de 1,114 muertes al 03 de junio 2020 de manera que estamos hablando de la posible existencia de entre 46,000 y 111,400 personas ya se encuentran infectadas dentro del país. Nicaragua en este momento tiene su sistema salud colapsado, muchos de los casos están siendo auto atendidos en sus propias viviendas y las necesidades de medios para la prevención así como para medicinas, diagnósticos, entre otras son abundantes.
El mundo está pasando por una pandemia global. Hagamos lo que esté en nuestras manos para ayudar a nuestras hermanas y hermanos nicaragüenses. Creemos que en esta lucha contra COVID19, deberíamos estar más que nunca unidos; cualquiera de nosotros sin distinción de clase, fondo o color puede verse afectado.
Los fondos recaudados se destinarán a material de protección para profesionales de la salud, tratamiento de personas infectadas y una campaña de prevención, siempre orientada a los grupos más vulnerables del país.
Dotación de paquete kit medicamentos a 1000 pacientes, cada paquete va dependiendo de la gravedad y avance de la enfermedad en la que se encuentra el paciente.

Ante la gran demanda de ayuda humanitaria solicitada desde Nicaragua vemos la urgente necesidad de impulsar esta campaña de recaudación y establecer un convenio con The Hague Peace Projects a fin de que esta organización se encargue de la administración del fondo a efectos de garantizar la debida transparencia y rendición de cuentas hacia las personas donantes.
The Hague Peace Projects es una organización no gubernamental que busca el desarrollo de la paz en el mundo; situada en La Haya, Países Bajos. Está conformada por un enérgico grupo de jóvenes profesionales dedicados a la prevención de conflictos, promoción de la paz y el respeto a los derechos humanos. Actualmente, la organización cuenta con un grupo de trabajo dedicado a Nicaragua, el cual está desarrollando campañas para ayudar a diferentes sectores, comunidades dentro y fuera del país, Misión Nicaragua.

Raise your helping hand! We are a group of Nicaraguans living abroad around the world, who are looking to create a platform of solidarity for other Nicaraguans in front of COVID-19. We are raising funds to support our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters who are most vulnerable to the pandemic. Our actions in progress:
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the serious situation generated in Nicaragua, we have voluntarily set up the multidisciplinary area of medical health and psychosocial care with specialists in different parts of the world. Those who are providing accompaniment to victims of the COVID-19 crisis within Nicaragua.
We have promoted a strong campaign from the communication area focused on community self-protection, the urgency of a national quarantine to prevent infection, in attention to the measures mandated by the World Health Organization. From the legal area and international advocacy, we are knocking on all doors to achieve the restoration of freedom and democracy with justice in the country.
Objectives of this campaign
Contribute to preserving the right to health and life of the Nicaraguan people through humanitarian aid to reduce the number of people who are sick and die from COVID-19 as well as to have the means to reduce their levels of vulnerability to the pandemic and the levels of socio-economic impoverishment.
The aim is to have resources to satisfy, as much as possible, the great demand for attention to the urgent needs of Nicaraguans who live in a situation of vulnerability both inside and outside national territory. Nicaragua is currently going through one of the greatest human rights crises in its history and requires the solidarity of all the peoples of the world.
The situation is getting worse and worse in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in which, according to projections based on the MRC model that projects the number of infected based on the total number of reported deaths x 100 taking as a reference the official number of reported deaths: 46 x 100 = the total number of infected to date would be more than 46,000 people.

The world is going through a global pandemic. Let us do what we can to help our Nicaraguan sisters and brothers. We believe that in this fight against COVID19 , we should be more than ever united; any of us without distinction of class, background or color can be affected.
The funds collected will be used for protection materials for health professionals, treatment of infected people and a prevention campaign, always aimed at the most vulnerable groups in the country.

In view of the great demand for humanitarian aid requested from Nicaragua, we see the urgent need to promote this collection campaign and establish an agreement with The Hague Peace Projects so that this organization can take charge of the administration of the fund in order to guarantee due transparency and accountability towards the donors.
The Hague Peace Projects is a non-governmental organization that seeks the development of peace in the world; located in The Hague, Netherlands. It is made up of an energetic group of young professionals dedicated to conflict prevention, peace promotion and respect for human rights. Currently, the organization has a working group dedicated to Nicaragua, which is developing campaigns to help different sectors, communities inside and outside the country, Mission Nicaragua.
