Shiloh the Cat — Found Her Home, Now She Needs a Vet!
Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and strangers!
The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide essential veterinarian care and supplies for Shiloh, a previously stray cat we found at the beginning of May 2025.
This fundraiser is being hosted by me, John; my girlfriend, Robin; and Shiv, who now owns and cares for Shiloh. We would all wholeheartedly appreciate your support.
Storytime: Shiv and I live in the same apartment complex. We were outside talking several weeks ago when we saw a small cat sneaking around. Since she looked young and didn't have identification, we carefully approached her, secured her, and brought her to Shiv's apartment. (Robin and I have a cat of our own who wouldn't appreciate a guest.) Shiv cared for the cat for a day or two while we figured out what was going on.
Through the help of one of Shiv's connections—a kind vet tech with a microchip scanner and knowledge of lost pet databases—it was determined that the cat didn't have a home or owner. She was a dilute tortoiseshell approaching 5 or 6 months old. Her large paws and long fur suggested Maine coon. We lent Shiv some cat supplies for several more days while we figured out the next steps.
Shiv and the cat soon found comfort in each other's company and became attached to each other, so he determined to keep her. He named her Shiloh, or Shy for short—to match her timid personality.
But Shy is a stray for all we know. She needs a professional veterinarian to fully evaluate her health, administer vaccines, prescribe anti-parasite medication, and all that stuff.
Unfortunately, Shiv doesn't have enough money right now. While Robin and I have shared our litter, food, toys, and other cat supplies with him, we unfortunately don't have money enough either. This is where you generous donors come in.
We expect the vet services to cost several hundred dollars, so that's what we're humbly asking for. If you have the means, please contribute to this fundraiser to help Shiv provide essential vet services to Shy.
Any donations that exceed the vet bill will go toward Shy's future food, supplies, vet visits, and other necessities.
A quick note: We've been struggling to find free or reduced-cost vet services that we qualify for, but if we end up finding the required vet services for free or very cheap, we'll refund your donations.
Thank you so much! We'll update this page when Shy sees the vet!
