Hello. We are friends and neighbors of the Cronck family who wanted to provide an avenue for those wishing to help them through their daughter’s latest medical crisis. It has been heartbreaking to stand by and helplessly watch the up and down roller coaster as their family has seen 5 year old Shiloh struggle through one mystery illness, endure spinal surgery to resolve it and then seem to be on the road to recovery only to end up back in the hospital in even worse circumstances. We’ve watched their lives come to a halt as they juggle caring for their other three children and straddle life between their home in Bellingham and Seattle Children’s Hospital. We’ve watched and wondered how we can support their family. We know they have asked for, and continue to ask, for positive thoughts and prayers. At this time, we’d like to offer additional support as well. There is no firm estimate as to how long they will be in the hospital. Nothing is guaranteed right now. We ask other friends, neighbors and supporters to help us raise money for whatever they need in the coming weeks and/or months. Whether it be medical bills, lodging and transportation, food, or life essentials - they can use our support. I urge you to consider a gift to this beautiful, active, sweet family. Your prayers and thoughts are welcomed as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are grateful for any and all support. If you are not familiar with this situation, let us share Sommer’s words from her public Facebook page.
“Shiloh is five years old and the youngest of four. In April, she got very sick and after many hospital visits it was discovered that she had an epidural infection (MSSA) and had emergency spinal surgery across five vertebrae to clear the infection. That was April 10 and she was healing beautifully and on a regimen of antibiotics to thoroughly rid of the infection. On May 9 we returned to the ER as she had high fevers, headache, sore throat, vomiting, and some alarming blood work that was part of her surgery follow up. As we were in the ER she started saying she couldn’t breathe. It is not why we brought her in but it rapidly deteriorated to the point that she was transferred to the ICU on May 10 and is now on a ventilator. The scariest part is that they simply have no idea what is causing it. She has has blood draws, MRIs, X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, a spinal tap, nose and throat swabs and still no answers. They do not believe it is related to the previous epidural abscess but are dumbfounded she could have two bouts of horrible bad luck in such quit succession. Her lungs have deteriorated and have fluid in and around them. They show signs of damage. We have no idea why. If they could only figure out what is causing this, perhaps they could help her. All we want are answers and to be on the path to taking our baby home. She has all the best teams working for her, and I am keeping the faith that they WILL figure this out. But my heart needs it to be soon. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. If you know her brothers or sister, please do not go into great detail with them. With so little information at this time we have chosen to limit what they know about the situation. Thank you.”
Update: Shiloh's mother and father have created a Facebook page so we can follow the latest news about how Shiloh is doing. Here is the link to take you there. www.facebook.com/shiloheverly. Thank you all for your gifts to help our friends and neighbors.
