I began Scouting in 2007 as a Webelos 1.  These eight years of scouting have led me towards earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Now as a Life Scout in Troop 199, I am preparing to complete my Eagle Scout project at Frost Valley Y.M.C.A. in Claryville, NY.  For my service project we will be constructing a lean-to camping shelter in the trail system of Frost Valley YMCA . Frost Valley's year round programs include summer camp for urban kids, children requiring dialysis, and children with special needs. The lean-to and others like it are needed to support the large groups of campers seeking the outdoor experience that Frost Valley provides. The lean-to will provide shelter for day hikers and encourage overnight camping in an area outside of the main campus near a waterfall. This specific lean-to will be the second in a pair of lean-tos that will make it possible for an entire cabin of campers to stay over night together at the site.
