Shields for Safety
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Paul Miller and I am a prop builder for kids television shows in Los Angeles. While on lockdown over the Covid-19 virus, I was struck by how badly our doctors and nurses lacked basic supplies like masks, gloves, and face shields. I can't sew, nor make gloves, but I realized I could make face shields out of extra plexiglass and supplies I had. I created 54 face shields in total, which I have given to ER facilities and doctors and nurse to protect them.
I am asking for donations for a total of $730 dollars to make 240 more face shields to donate. $600 dollars will go to purchasing 30 sheets of plastic. $80 dollars will go purchase the contact cement for the foam, $30 dollars will go for glue thinner (necessary to put on foam) and the remaining $20 will go to shoe strings to tie the shields on. I have all the foam so there's not cost there.
Plastic supplies are drying up quickly here in the LA area (it is heartwarming to know there are others building face shields and donating them too) so please don't hesitate to donate. $1 dollar, $5 dollars, $50 dollars or more; no amount is too little or too large.
I can do about 50 face shields every day and a half, perhaps more once I get on a roll. I will take photos of what I create with your gracious donations. Please don't delay. The quicker I get supplies, the quicker I can get face shields to those who need them badly, the doctors and nurses on the front line, battling this pandemic and saving lives.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION!
