Shiba's Lymphoma Treatment

Donation protected
On Friday, 7/27 the vet called with news to tell us that the lumps in Shiba's throat are positive for Lymphoma.

As you probably know, Lymphoma is a form of Cancer that attacks the lymph nodes and rapidly spreads to other parts of the body such as the spleen, liver, and even to the bones.

The treatment for this type of Cancer is a special form of Chemotherapy called CHOP. CHOP has an 80-90% success rate in dogs, and can hopefully cause Shiba's cancer to go into remission.

We have 2 positive things going for us:
- Her age (she's only 8)
- We caught it early (before she started feeling sick and showing  symptoms - other than the external swollen lymph nodes)

I'm very hopeful that the CHOP Treatment will work and that we can all have many more years to spend with Shiba.

The problem is: it's very expensive and coming at a time when we're already strapped for cash with the wedding. Because the disease is known to progress extremely quickly (giving many dogs only weeks to live from diagnosis), we have to treat her now.

Anything you're able to give is MUCH appreciated, as we want nothing more than to get this girl cancer free.

Cheers to more Shiba cuddles and dog patio parties.
