Hi everyone, as you all know, our beautiful Seamus was hit by a car outside our house. He is currently at the vets in an oxygen treatment unit and is on pain medication. He has made it through the first night! Which is great news! The bill is already at £1580 and after a call from the vet to say that she would like to keep him in, but she fears the overall cost will reach somewhere up to 5k.
Right now I would like to pay for an xray, as he’s not using his back legs - and then we will take it from there. If I cannot afford this, then I have to put him down. I have no other option. We have had Seamus since he was a little kitten. He’s a little pretzel kitty and will come under the covers with you and do a little crocodile roll. We call him liquid cat because he is so docile that he’s been sat on many a time and you don’t even notice until he starts moving.
Seamus has travelled to Ireland and back with me and has grown up with Orlagh and Charlie. Seamus can be a bit hesitant with people at first but once he’s sure of you, he is the most cuddliest and loveliest boy. He has saved my life and held my tears in his fur so many times. Right now we have no answers, I don’t even know if anything is broken, but I don’t want to just give up before I know. Please can you help me just find out what’s going on with him and then I can make a decision (if money were no object - I would be throwing it at the vet and making sure he lives). I am not on any benefits, so I can’t get low cost vet care but I do live hand to mouth whilst trying to sort out everything else in my life.
anything to help would be amazing.
i do understand that animals have a shorter life than us, but it feels wholly unfair that Seamus’s may be cut short because of money.
Also I vow to get pet insurance immediately.
Thank you
