Hi, my name is Elz. If you know me, you know that my little boy Sheva has increased the joy in my life tenfold. Sheva needs surgery and I am enlisting your help to cover the costs.

I was thinking about adopting a male tuxedo kitten to keep my adult tuxedo, Sybil, company. On July 7th, 2021 an incredible, little dude approached my mom on the streets of Oxford, Mississippi. He was very tiny and very noisy. I named this baby after the Hebrew word for seven: Sheva.

Since adopting Sheva, life has taken on the color of play. He loves to climb windows, jump, wrestle with his sister, chase his laser toy, and stretch his body very long. I’m used to a kitty who is in play mode most hours of his day. Sheva has always been a very mobile boy.

About two weeks ago, Sheva’s behavior changed from the ebullience that he’s always moved with to limping lethargy. He started limping everywhere and getting upset when I went near his left hind leg. He needed help to get up on the couch and spent most of the day stationary. Play was traded in for sleep. It became clear that he was in immense pain.

After three visits to the vet over the following week, we finally figured out what was wrong: the head of his femur is diseased and is slowly eating away at itself. In order to get Sheva back to his baby playful self, he needs surgery. This is where you can help.

Surgery is expensive. It is going to cost $2100 to get Sheva back to health. I am reaching out to my loved ones, friends of Sheva, and fans of the number seven to try to raise some of the necessary funds.
