Shetland Transmission Grid Charity Challenge - MYH
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Shetland Transmission Grid Charity Challenge JustGiving page. Here's information outlining our aims:-
A dedicated team of volunteers from SSEN Transmission, Morgan Sindall, Omexom, and subcontractors will be undertaking a charity fitness challenge aimed at promoting positive health and wellbeing on the Gremista projects by setting fitness goals for 2025. Each participant has been encouraged to choose an ambitious yet achievable goal and complete it on our designated charity day, May 31st, using various exercise equipment at Clickimin Leisure Centre.
Collectively, the volunteers from our project team will aim to complete a set distance that reflects the UGC, OHL, and subsea cable works connecting to the UK mainland, totalling a minimum of 344 miles. In addition to the volunteers in Shetland, members of staff supporting the project from afar and staff no longer on the projects will also participate by completing their committed distances remotely. They will dial in and appear on screen at our chosen venue, contributing to our collective objective.
A key aim of this challenge is to raise funds for worthwhile causes that are personal to our project team members, as well as for an underfunded local mental health charity in Shetland. The charities chosen by our project staff include:
• Mind Your Head: A Shetland-based charity dedicated to ensuring that mental health is positively supported within the community. They deliver mental health support services across the Shetland Islands, research and respond to mental health needs, and work in partnership with existing organisations to raise mental health and wellbeing awareness in Shetland.
All donations greatly appreciated!
