She’s Worked Her Whole Life... Now She Needs Us

Donation protected

My mom is the kind of person who never stops. She’s the one who shows up to work every single day, even when her body aches, even when her health makes it hard to keep going.

She raised two kids on her own as a single mother. She worked through exhaustion, hardship and years of struggle all the while, always making sure her children were fed, clothed, and cared for, even if it meant going without herself. She never asked for help. She never complained. She just kept going.

But right now, that strength isn’t enough.

Because of a housing office shutdown... Which was a mess completely out of her control... her rent went unpaid. By the time things reopened, she was already too far behind. She tried so hard to catch up, putting as much as she could from every paycheck toward it, but it was never enough.

The landlords gave her one chance to work with them. She took it and tried her best. But even with that opportunity, she just couldn’t get caught up on what was owed while also keeping up with her other bills. And now, instead of understanding, they’ve handed her a 30-day eviction notice.

I watched her hold that paper in her hands, trying to stay strong, trying not to cry. But I could see it in her eyes... the fear, the exhaustion, the heartbreak of realizing that after all these years of working and giving, life is still knocking her down. And if you know my mom, you know she’s not one for tears. Seeing her so upset is heartbreaking.

She needs help. Not because she’s weak but because she’s human.

Where the Money Will Go

Right now, my mom is about $5,500 behind on rent. That’s the amount that built up during the housing office shutdown and the months she spent fighting to catch up. Without that being cleared, they are moving forward with eviction.

On top of that, she’ll need help covering:

Moving costs & deposits: around $1,500–$2,000 (first month’s rent, security deposit, and moving expenses)

Basic stability (utilities, groceries during transition): around $500

That makes our total goal $7,500-$8,000.

Every dollar given will go directly to keeping her safe, housed, and giving her the chance to start fresh without the fear of losing everything.

Mom has always put herself last. Always. She’s the kind of woman who will go without so that everyone else is taken care of. She’s the kind of woman who keeps fighting long after most people would have given up.

But right now, she can’t do this alone.

I promise to keep sharing every step of this journey. There will be updates about her housing, about her progress, and about exactly how your kindness is being used. You’ll see how much of a difference you’re making.

If you can give, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you can’t, please share this story. Share it so my mom knows she isn’t alone. Share it so someone else sees her strength and decides to stand with her.

Because if anyone deserves it, it's definitely her. She’s earned that. And with your help, she won’t have to face this fight by herself.
