She's more than a WOMEN she's a WARRIOR, Dawn's recovery.

My name is Mo'Nique McGee. I'm one of five children belonging to my mother, Dawn Smith, and father, James Smith. On May 14th, 2025, after leaving a job she's been working at for over 37 years, my mom was headed home on Greenbay Rd in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin when she encountered a seizure, causing her to go off the road, ultimately wrapping her car around a tree. If it wasn't for the swift and selfless thinking of George Cruz (who we consider our divine uncle), calling for medical assistance when he did and sitting at the scene speaking life into my mother, as well as going back to his trunk, grabbing his fire extinguisher, and putting the smoke out, this accident could've been a lot worse. We will forever love and appreciate his selfless act of kindness and humanitarian actions.

First responders had to use the jaws of life to cut my mom out of the vehicle before utilizing Flight For Life to get her to surgery to stop the internal bleeding. To date, my mom has had 10 surgeries to repair both wrists, shoulders, ankles, legs, and abdominal wall. She had to have a portion of her skull removed to release the pressure on her brain, and the skull will be replaced in 6 weeks. She sustained breaks to almost 80 percent of her body, a broken jaw, but SHE IS STILL HERE, FIGHTING.

My mother is going to have extensive medical care, and though she has insurance, her cost of care will far exceed that. We ask that you not only assist her monetarily but also by lifting her up in prayers. We welcome calls, texts, and emails.
