Sheryl's Cancer Fight: Help a Loving Mother and Grandma

My name is Samantha, and I’m Sheryl’s daughter-in-law. For over a decade, Sheryl has been more than family to me, she’s been a second mom. She’s one of those people who would give you the shirt off her back, even if it was the only one she had left.

Today, she has almost nothing left.

Sheryl has been fighting aggressive stomach cancer that’s now spread to her lymph nodes, esophagus, and small intestine. She’s fought so hard, through endless tests, painful treatments, and exhausting side effects that have stolen her strength. But cancer doesn’t just take your health, it takes your security, too.

Sheryl’s disability benefits have run out. She’s too sick to work. The mounting bills and medical costs have left her with no way to keep up. She’s already lost her home and is now relying entirely on family to keep a roof over her head while she goes through chemo and prepares for radiation.

No one deserves to lose everything when they’re fighting for their life. No one should lie awake at night wondering where they’ll live while they’re battling stage 4 cancer.

All Sheryl wants is to focus on her fight and to spend what time she has left surrounded by her children, stepchildren, and her eight, soon-to-be nine grandchildren, and her loyal dog Sookie, who hasn’t left her side once through this nightmare.

But she needs help. We can’t do this alone.
