On October 14, 2019 my wife, Sherry will undergo her 2nd open heart valve replacement surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.  Sherry will be admitted in the hospital for up to a month, God willing with no complications and an additional 2 months out of work.  Sherry will be admitted to the hospital on October 9th for pre-surgical testing, a heart catheterization, bridging and 4D echoes.  Although we are excited and thankful that the Cleveland Clinic has decided to take on her challenging case, we are also nervous and concerned.  Her first open heart surgery was on November 3, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.  The surgery was extremely difficult on her, 19 days in a coma on life support, the recovery time, long term prognosis and the following 10 years have had many life threatening challenges for Sherry.  the effect of the TIA's, mini strokes, as well as the valves not operating as Doctors originally thought they would have led us and the surgical staff to decide that open heart valve replacement, for a second time is required and required ASAP.  The soonest they can fit her in is this October and they moved schedules around to get her in that soon.  Knowing this, we are looking at an out of pocket expense, prior to surgery of at least $12,000 which does not include her loss of wages for a minimum of 3 months.  I was very reluctant to set up a GoFundMe account as I always feel there are more in need than Sherry and I but after much advice and many of our friends suggesting that Michael, Brittany and I need to do this, well, here it is.  I have set a goal of $15,000  to help with the out of pocket costs and loss wages, anything and everything will certainly help and I have set the goal date for the end of September.  If you are unable to help though, we completely understand and ask that you keep Sherry in your prayers for a positive and speedy recovery.  Thank you all for your support, prayers and help, words can not express our gratitude.  We love Sherry and need her in our lives, this surgery will go a long way in making sure that happens.
