Sherry's Battle with COVID-19

For Sherry Turner & Her Family
On August 12th, the Turner family was impacted by COVID-19. Sherry’s husband David and son Matthew tested positive and started showing symptoms. Within 4 days, Sherry was admitted to the ER with dropping oxygen levels, tested positive for COVID-19, and scans showed double pneumonia. Her condition only continued to get worse and she was rushed to the ICU on August 19th. The next morning we were contacted with information that her lungs were failing, and she immediately went on a ventilator and started receiving a battery of treatments to attempt to save her life.
Vented for 17 days, Sherry never stopped fighting and miraculously her lungs started working on their own during one of her spontaneous breathing treatments. Her entire hospital stay was 33 days (17 days on a ventilator). With her lungs and body ravaged by COVID-19 and venting, she was transferred to a rehabilitation center where she spent the next 50 days pushing to recover and regain everything she lost. Below is her first successful attempt at standing.
On October 25th after being away from her family for 83 days, Sherry was discharged and returned home to continue her recovery and therapy. She has a long road to her recovery, and is still requiring extensive care, assistance, and equipment. David is now taking unpaid leave to care for her during the coming months.
There were tons of calls and texts of love and support for Sherry during this time, and even more requests to send flowers and gifts during her battle and stays in ICU, the hospital, and rehab. She was heavily sedated and paralyzed on the ventilator and such gifts would not have been fully appreciated by her. Sherry and David can really use your love and support now to help cover her medical bills and his unpaid leave.
