Sherri is the most selfless person I've ever had the priviledge and joy of knowing, and I'm lucky I get the honor of holding the title of her daugher. I'm creating this account to tell you the story of my sweet mother, Sherri, and keep our friends and family updated on her medical condition.
It all started July 2, 2002 when she was diagnosed with advanced stage 2 breast cancer.. after an intense round of chemo, radiation and surgery, our Faithful and Loving Creator saw fit to allow my mother to go into remission for almost 14 years.
Fast forward... She began experiencing pain in her right arm, shoulder, and neck and after a series of tests, our worst fears were confirmed on July 1, 2016.. just one day shy of 14 years from her initial diagnosis. Her cancer is back... but this time, it's in her right hip. (not even in the area she's having problems with!) We have a long road ahead of us. This week, Tuesday (July 12, 2016) she has an MRI and PET scan to determine if the cancer is localized or spread anywhere else. Although she has insurance, with every test there is a copay and with every doctor visit, another copay. We're facing scans, biopsy, tests, doctor visits, and other unforseen medical expenses. My sweet mother already works TWO jobs, but all these co-pays are too much, even with her insurance. If you are able to help, it would mean more than you would ever know for our family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to hear my moms story. Please pray for her and for our family and we journey this together! Though we may have been taken by surprise, we are comforted in the fact that our Heavenly Father, who is completely sovereign, was NOT taken by surprise by this. May He make much of this!
