Hello, friends and friends of friends. It’s with a broken heart I'm writing that my mom and lifelong best friend is no longer with us. It has been terribly painful to say goodbye.
My mom was truly passionate in everything she did, said and felt. She was unapologetically herself. She was wildly supportive. She had a fierce and loyal love for her family and friends. She was a little unpredictable and a lot of fun. She doted on her granddaughter. Her laugh filled the room, it was amazing. I will miss that laugh more than anything. We had many great adventures, a lot of laughs, a lot of tears, and endless memories. She will be missed more than I will ever be able to describe.
It’s been a long journey since 2018 when she was initially diagnosed with breast cancer. She was the poster child for remission for some time. Hope was restored and anxieties went down. But cancer is a shark in the water. We found out it was stage IV in early 2021, but still had lots of hope for a positive outcome. The end of 2022 brought hard realizations, and 2023 was harder. The end of this journey was not ever what we expected for her. All this to say, we didn't have much time to plan her end-of-life arrangements. This all truly happened so fast. Anything donated will go directly toward her end-of-life plans.
An endless thank you to her family and friends that have shown up so consistently to provide help and support. This has been an incredibly heartbreaking journey for everyone. My heart is with you all.
