Many of you probably don't know this but back in June my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor located at the base of her skull. It's been a pretty eventful last few months for all of our family. The tumor has eaten through her temporal bone and caused permanent hearing damage along with constant dizziness, discomfort, and a plethora of other debilitating symptoms. It's currently wrapped around her carotid artery and dangerously close to three cranial nerves and pushing up into the right temporal lobe. It's proven to be a pretty difficult case that has required extremely targeted care from specialized doctors. She has had many obstacles in trying to find someone who can help her. We have seen many specialists and had to undergo six months physical therapy just to get back to a functioning level for her. After many doctors that didn't quite know what to do about it we finally landed on the mayo clinics door step. As you can imagine traveling all the way to Minnesota isn't exactly the easiest thing to accomplish. Especially when it comes to something that requires a multitude of tests and procedures before hand,  but they are the only people we have found that have the skill and technology to go in and operate. We are incredibly lucky and thankful that we have the opportunity to work with this amazing team of skillful doctors at the mayo clinic. As grateful as we are to have found these doctors, we are becoming more and more aware of the financial strain that is involved with the upcoming surgery. We have struggled with insurance and covid adding to an already stressful situation on everyone involved. As my mom cannot drive she requires at least one person to accompany her up there. Due to covid we won't be allowed to stay in the hospital alongside her so we will have to get a hotel room and stay through the duration of her recovery ( anywhere from 4-7 days). We are looking to raise money to help ease the burden on the family member who will be taking her up there. We appreciate any and all prayers in this wildly uncertain time.
