Mom has always overcome life’s challenges with strength and grace.
In August of 2015 she lost her home and almost all of her possessions to an electrical fire. This fall she was able to rebuild and was just starting to settle back in. Sadly the unthinkable happened; in January 2017, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon cancer which has metastasized to the lymph nodes and liver. She went into emergency surgery to have her colon removed. Now fitted with an ileostomy bag, her spirit hasn’t dwindled. Faced with so much uncertainty, and a life long fight, she still manages to hold her head high and inspire as she has always done.
Mom is the most giving, selfless and compassionate person you will come by. We are in awe of her strength and composure in the face of such uncertainty. She is not the type to ask for help.
My brothers and I are raising funds to help mom through this difficult journey. Not only will she need assistance with medical bills, but we also want her to be allowed to heal her body, mind and spirit without the burden of mounting expenses.
We know not everyone is able to contribute financially. What is more important to us is that folks share some of the love that mom has given to them. Cards are welcomed, posts on Facebook are appreciated, and prayers are coveted. As our family continues on this journey with mom we will strive to live each day for love. If there is one thing Mom has shown us time and time again it is how to love unconditionally. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and support.
