Hello,
Our names are Amanda Silcoff (Thornhill, ON), Eudes La Roche-Francoeur (Quebec City, QC), Jacob Sheffield (Wolfville, NS), Jonathan Corkal (Saskatoon, SK), and Meghan Caine (Comox Valley, BC). We are in our fourth and final year in the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. In December 2017, the five of us are fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in Theatre Sheridan’s third annual cultural exchange, spending three weeks in China to further strengthen our exciting international partnerships. The trip focuses on learning and international collaboration in musical theatre and we are incredibly excited to be able to celebrate our art form across the globe.
Highlights of the trip will include:
A special presentation of songs and scenes from the new musical Bethune, being co-developed by Sheridan’s incubator for the development of new works, the Canadian Music Theatre Project and the prestigious Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, a national Chinese theatre. A Shanghai cabaret of songs from musicals developed at the Canadian Music Theatre Project.
Performing in a Holiday Concert with over 100 kids from iMusicals, a Shanghai based extra-curricular musical theatre program that Sheridan hosts at its Oakville campus each summer.
Visits to cultural centres, theatres and universities in Shanghai and Beijing.
Meetings and masterclasses with Chinese theatre practitioners.
A trip of this nature is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we have begun fundraising to help make it a reality. The money from this campaign will aid us in offsetting the living and travel costs of the trip. Your kind donation will enable us and future Theatre Sheridan Interns to be part of the growing relationship between Sheridan and China; any surplus funds raised will be contributed to next year’s cultural exchange.
We are hoping to reach our goal by December 1st, 2017.

Nous sommes Amanda Silcoff (Thornhill, ON), Eudes La Roche-Francoeur (Québec, QC), Jacob Sheffield (Wolfville, NE), Jonathan Corkal (Saskatoon, SK) et Meghan Caine (Comox Valley, BC). Nous débutons notre quatrième et dernière année au Baccalauréat en performance de théâtre musical à Sheridan College en Ontario. Au mois de décembre 2017, nous aurons la chance de participer au troisième voyage d’échange culturel annuel organiser par Theatre Sheridan. Nous passerons trois semaines en Chine durant lesquelles nous renforcerons le partenariat culturel entre notre école et la communauté internationale. Le voyage a pour but d’encourager l’apprentissage et la collaboration culturel sur la scène du théâtre musical. Nous sommes très heureux de pouvoir célébrer notre art de l’autre côté du globe.
Voici quelques évènements qui feront parti de notre voyage :
- La présentation de scènes et de chansons tirées de la comédie musical Bethune, une nouvelle pièce développée par le Canadian Music Theatre Project, programme de développement de nouvelle création à Sheridan College, et le prestigieux Shanghai Dramatic Art Centre, théâtre national de Chine. - La présentation d’un cabaret à Shanghai constitué de chansons créées au Canadian Music Theatre Project.
- La participation à un concert des fêtes avec de plus de 100 élèves du programme iMusicals, un programme d’enseignement de théâtre musical basé à Shanghai dont Sheridan reçoit la visite sur son campus de Oakville chaque été.
- La visite de centres culturels, de théâtres et de centres d’enseignements à Shanghai et a Beijing.
- Des rencontres et des masterclass avec des professionnels de l’industrie du théâtre musical en Chine.
Un voyage de cette nature est une chance unique. Nous avons donc décidé de mettre sur pied une campagne de financement afin de faire de ce rêve une réalité. Les dons reçus durant la campagne nous servirons à défrayer les frais de logis et de transports associés au voyage. Les dons nous permettront, à nous et aux futures stagiaires de Theatre Sheridan, à prendre part à l’échange culturel florissant entre la Chine et Sheridan College. Les surplus amassés durant la campagne aideront à financer le voyage vers la Chine des prochains stagiaires de Theatre Sheridan.
Nous espérons atteindre notre objectif avant le 1er decembre 2017.
