I've started a fund to help my mother, Sheri Terwilliger, who lost her husband on March 3, 2017. My father, William Terwilliger, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma in July 2016. He went through chemotherapy for several months and was declared cancer free in January 2017. However, throughout treatment and after treatment my father battled with anxiety. His anxiety caused issues with sleep, and many sleepless nights pacing his room.
My father was never a man to need the support of others as he was always helping others. The thought of him not being able to support our family consumed his mind. The last few times I was able to speak with him he consistently reminded me to "take care of your mother". I told him that I would take care of mom and I desperately tried to convince him that he would be taking care of mom too.
With his passing comes the unimaginable hole that has been left behind. The money from this fund will go to support medical expenses and living expenses that my mom will need to pay for on her own. It will also help to fill the hole that has been left behind and make it easier for my mother to live her life without her soul mate.
