Sheri Perotti - Mayo Clinic Fundraiser

Donation protected
Sheri Perotti needs our help. Sheri is suffering from multiple health issues and her family needs help in order to get her to the Mayo Clinic where she has been in touch with Doctors that believe they can help her.

I first became acquainted with Perotti's in high school in Colorado where John Perotti was my seminary teacher. I struck up a friendship with John, Sheri, and their kids. I care about them a great deal and I’ve offered to help them with this campaign.

In March of 2018, Sheri had a TIA (Mini Stroke). Since then, she has been in a downward spiral. John brought her home from a malfeasant hospital with no way to care for her; no wheelchair, nothing. He cared for her and  carried her wherever she needed to go. Ultimately, a past student of John’s was able to get a wheelchair donated.

From there, things have progressively gotten worse. In the months since the TIA, she has lost over 160 lbs, been to every “ologist” out there, and only this past week an autistic doctor – that’s right, autistic – discovered she has a rare (less than 1.5% of all thyroid cancer cases) form of thyroid liposarcoma that escaped detection for over a year. She has tumors all over her body. She also has orthostatic hypotension, which means she has constant low blood pressure and faints multiple times daily.

It is heart breaking as she fades to black while you try to comfort her and assure her that this isn’t the last time she’ll close her eyes. John must catch her when she faints, and he just had to have reconstructive shoulder surgery. John was also recently in a car wreck and has terrible back pain and he still labors to carry and care for Sheri. Their daughter Tiffanie has left her job and family in order to help care for Sheri.

That isn’t even all of it! In November of last year, a hospital gave Sheri some medicine for a routine test that flatlined her 3 times. The third time that her heart stopped John was in the room and he had to tell them to do a tracheotomy to get her back. All this came on the heels of John’s battle with and recovery from liposarcoma that became infected after surgery, nearly killing him after the wound erupted.

They have had just one trial after another over the past few years and they need helping heads to buoy them up. Please reach out a helping hand in their time of desperation. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Help this darling family that isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

PLEASE HELP! The prognosis does not look good, but they do believe that they can turn things around with the right medical help. If Sheri is able to survive the next few weeks and we can raise the money for incidental expenses (Copayments, deductibles, the cost of relocating, etc.). John has been able to work very little recently both due to his own health issues and because he has been acting as Sheri’s full-time care provider.
