Please help Shereen & her family rebuild their life in Gaza

My name is Sima. I live in Totnes & am friends with Nick from the Hands Up Project. This amazing project has been working in Palestine for years with local teachers & children.

Shereen is a HUP teacher and friends with Nick. It’s my privilege & honour to tell her story and try & help her family, though it shatters my heart;

“To all the passionate souls around the world, I'm Shereen Lubbad an English teacher from Gaza. l have four children Amir, Omar, Mohammed and Mahmoud.

We are a family of six living in extreme danger in Gaza. As a mother I feel helpless because I cannot protect my children, and all I want is to protect them from the danger of the war and give them a better future.

We are a family who lost their warm home .We are homeless and displaced.

Our home used to hold dreams, passions and aspiration, but all we have got now is memories..

After all this suffering that left psychological impact on us and turned our life upside down. We come to you with a plea born out of love and desperation, as we seek to rescue our family from this genocide.

Our eldest sons, Amir and Omar are in grade seven .They are twins. The other sons Mohammed and Mahmoud are in grade 4 and they are twins too.

My son, Mohammed, who possesses a talent for drawing, he expresses his dream of having a house after losing our house in this war.

This is one of Mohammed's drawings during war. we are all struggling in this situation. We have been denied access many basic rights. Such as food, shelter, education and healthcare.

We are now in a tent at the street, suffering from the hot weather and lack of privacy.
