Hello!

Thank you so much for taking a moment to visit our page!  My name is Karen Babcock and I am the AVID coordinator for Sheridan High School.  AVID is a college readiness system designed for low income, first generation college-bound students with untapped potential.   With my 15 years experience with AVID, I know it is THE system that is proven to raise student performance and narrow the achievement gap.  AVID students work hard to take higher level classes and carry a larger academic work load than their peers. Our students live the motto "Effort Creates Ability". 

Our program is raising funds to provide the resources required to help each of our students determine the post-secondary path of their choosing. 

All money donated will go toward providing:

-Organizational Supplies - binders, dividers, pencil pouches

-College Field Trips to prepare our students for the transition to university culture (University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Denver, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado State University, Colorado College, University of Northern Colorado)

-Graduation Cords and Stoles

-Training for teachers in AVID's researched-based programs




Our students and staff will be forever grateful for your financial support of our program.  This is an uncertain time in public education funding and we want to guarantee access to high quality education for our low income students.
