I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ( DCIS) , Cancer of the Milk Duct, on September 20th and will be undergoing a mastectomy as well as reconstruction. I specialize in Oncology Massage and had just started a new massage job on August 29. I was shocked to learn I had breast cancer so soon after. This means I will have to take 4-6 weeks off for these procedures and then to heal, the financial burden of medical expenses will be overwhelming(about $40,000).

I was so happy to raise $5900 for Breast Cancer when I did the Susan G. Keomen Breast Cancer Walk in 2001 in memory of my grandmother who died from breast cancer in 1999. After that I supported the walkers as a crew member in 2001 and 2002 in Boston and then in New York City in 2003.

Oncology Massage is my calling since my grandmother passed away from Breast Cancer at 90 in 1999 and my step mother died from Pancreatic Cancer in 2010, at 80, while I was at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. I love knowing that I make a difference in cancer patients lives through massage. I've been dedicated to supporting active cancer patients and survivors , through massage, since 2010.
