Hi everyone, my name is Yolan, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.
Yesterday, I shared that we had no communication with our mother after Hurricane Melissa devastated Jamaica. The silence was deafening. With no word and no way to reach her, my brother and his family set out on a mission—driving over three hours and then walking nearly 20 miles when the roads became impassable.
They found her.
In the little shop, battered but standing. She is alive. She is safe. And for that, we are deeply thankful.
But her home is gone. Everything she built, everything she owned, was swept away. The task now is to get her back into her house. We’re raising funds to help her rebuild — starting with shelter, and essentials. If you can give, please do. If you can share, we’d be so grateful. Every act of kindness brings us closer to recovery.
Thank you for standing with us. Your support means more than words can say.
