I am so very saddened and distraught with what is happing in my home country. It breaks my heart seeing innocent people fleeing their homes and trying to escape the terror of Vladimir Putin. I don’t know of the words to describe my feelings seeing children being born in bomb shelters, when I had the privilege of getting the best medical care for the delivery of my second child. When my newborn required immediate attention and NICU care it was immediately available to him - and the only thing that was going through my head was “Thank you God that we are safe, and not in a bomb shelter.”
The future is unpredictable, and no one is certain that the West Side of Ukraine will not be attacked, however at this time the West Side of Ukraine is a place where the majority of refugees are seeking shelter on their journey abroad.
I was born and raised in Ternopil, next to Lviv and about 2 hours away from the Polish border. My mom and dad are there now, in their mid 70s, trying to help others and refusing to leave their home. In conjunction with the Church of Ryzy Presvjatoyi Divi Mariyi and Father Roman money that I raise will be donated to the church The church has a camp set up for children and women fleeing from the East Side of Ukraine (where there is active fighting) and the money will help with meals and basic medical care for those in need.
Please consider donating for this cause, as I am certain that the money is much needed. I thank you for your consideration. Please see the link to the church below.
