Shelter for Ukrainian refugees in Moldova

We are a group of colleagues fundraising to support two NGOs - Congress of Ukrainians from Moldova (https://www.facebook.com/CNUM.md) and Union of Ukrainian Women from Moldova (https://www.facebook.com/Comunitatea.Femeilor.Ucrainene) - to manage and run a shelter for Ukrainian refugees that are running away from the ravages of war in their country. The shelter is located in Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe. To date, the shelter catered for 500+ refugees (mostly women and children) and countless cats and dogs. On average, there are 30-40 people residing in the shelter at any given time who stay for one or more days on their way to Europe. The shelter is managed and currently funded by volunteers who raised funds from individuals and charities to purchase 40 beds, pillows, blankets, toys, a washing machine, clothes, medicines and hygiene products, etc. In addition to providing for basic needs such as food, lodging, clothes and medicines, the volunteers arrange transportation, medical check-ups, mental health counselling and provide legal or translation assistance. A family of four requires about GBP 50 on average per day spent in the shelter.
