Don protégé
This is my sweet friend Josy. I met her a few months ago at an outreach to the KCMO homeless shelter with LifeMission Church Olathe. She came to America over 20 years ago with a college degree and visa to begin work as an accountant. Over time she began losing her eye sight due to glaucoma and cataracts, also a stroke from high blood pressure in her left eye. Josy lost everything, and has no family here to help her. She is now almost completely blind and 72 years old.
She has been circulating the homeless shelters for 6 years, pouring her story into as many people as she can in a desperate attempt to move someone's heart towards advocacy for her. The last place she was staying before the shelter was behind a dumpster that another local KC church told her she could stay behind for safety being blind .... yes this is the real story.
She has a clean background check, she's a Christian, loving, gentle, healthy and very independant .
A team of us are working with KU medical center with donations from a local lions club to help get her sights restored. We recently had a miracle occur for her, an apartment of her own to live independently. Her rent will be $525 a month and we can't do this without your support for the long haul ahead. Adopting her as family and meeting her needs are what we are called to do!! Thank you for joining our team!!!!!!!

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
