SHELLY’S SAFETY

Hello Friends. I created this fundraiser for my mother Shelly Angel. In 2021, Shelly was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She has been living by herself since her husband Kjell died 15 years ago. Her cognitive and physical abilities have decreased to the point where she is no longer safe living alone. Shelly’s only income is from social security. She gets just enough to pay basic bills, but $100 over the limit to qualify for Medicaid. I want her to move into my house with me, but I am very concerned about her safety on my stairs. The bedroom is upstairs and the kitchen is downstairs. Due to her poor balance and bad knees, Shelly uses a cane to walk. I took Shelly to a stairlift showroom where she was able to practice using different types of stairlifts. We found one she could easily operate, and she was very happy. We then found out the price and that insurance will not cover any of the cost. The mobility company has told us they can install the stairlift immediately once we have the funds. As soon as the stairlift is installed, I can move Mom (Shelly) to my house. Any help you are willing to provide is much appreciated. Thank you so much!
