Hey everyone!
Shelly finally agreed to let me start this for her
To no one’s shock, her stubborn self didn’t want to ask for help.
Brief recap of where we are.
Tuesday March 12, Shelly was taken into the hospital with symptoms they thought were related to the medication she was on.
After a CT scan was done, we found out she had a brain tumor on the right side of her brain.
We went to Mercy in Springfield, they did more scan and on Thursday, March 14, they did the surgery to remove it.
The neurologist was able to remove most of it, but not all of it.
Biopsy results came back within 24 hours and it was diagnosed as Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.
We’ve been helping her recover from surgery navigate the emotions and working on building up all her strength back.
We have treatment over the next 6+ months with chemo and radiation.
We’d really like to be able to get her 3 month follow up done at KU with more advanced imaging and to obtain a 2nd opinion to ensure we’re doing everything we can to help her achieve remission!
Where does the money go?
Any funds received will go towards medical expenses, treatments, medications, travel and living expenses for Shelly.
The outpouring of love for this lady tells me that everyone loves her as much as we do.
She’s a fighter and wants to beat all the odds and we’re going to help her do that!
Thank you to everyone who has shown her love and support!
