Many of you may know Shelly as a quirly, happy and motivating person, who puts a smile on the faces of others with ease. They is full of energy and motivation and often puts the needs of others and their work before themselfs. Throughout Shellys life they had to overcome many obstacles while transitioning was just one of them. Without a supportive family system Shelly learned to grow and be strong on their own which is a big quality of their personality. Even though it's admirable and amazing to be able to care for yourself, asking for help and support is something that is also really important to experience. Shelly never learned to do that and many of you will know how hard that step is even when you have a support system.

That is why it is a matter of heart for me to push Shelly in that direction.

Shelly took many loans to pay for their transition, their education and life things that other people take for granted. This was and still is a heavy burden for them - financially, socially and mentally.

This year I would love for Shelly to experience what it means to feel supported and loved and I'm sure that many of you would share this wish. That's why I suggested them to open this GoFundMe. So, if you have any financial ressources and if you are able to share even just a small amount of that, I'd be so happy to make Shellys life just a little bit easier with all of you together.

As trans people in a capitalistic society we experience a lot of structural discrimination as well as social and financial challenges. That is why community is even more important. Sometimes it doesn't even take more than giving someone money that you would have otherwise spent on a coffee. And even if you are not able to support Shelly in that way, you can still share this link with others who might be.
